Week 8 was a poor one  for the FANFOOD 2 for 2. Out of 3 starts, just 1 of them was quality. Here are the results followed by a great recipe, this time it’s Wild Boar Ribs.

Week 8

FANFOOD goes 1 for 3

Season: .742 (23 for 31)

1. Drew Smyly

Tigers pitcher Drew Smyly didn’t factor into the decision Monday, giving up three earned runs on seven hits and five walks in five innings while striking out six in his team’s 5-4, extra-innings loss to the Indians. Smyly had issued just 11 walks in 33 1/3 innings heading into Monday’s start, when he watched the Indians’ first run score on a wild pitch in the first inning and struggled with his control throughout, needing 110 pitches just to complete five innings. He didn’t have another start in week 8 because he was called on for an inning of relief on the 22nd vs Texas, he pitched a hitless inning with a strikeout.

2. Garrett Richards

Garrett Richards put together a quality start on Sunday, but was unable to factor into the decision in a 4-3 win over the Royals. The right-hander permitted three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven in seven innings. In his other start of week 8, Richards was hit with a loss after giving up five earned runs on 10 hits and two walks in seven innings and striking out just one in his team’s 5-2 loss to the Astros. He was touched up for three runs in the first inning Monday before giving up another in the second and one more in the third.
