Week 5 was a great one for the FANFOOD 2 for 2.  Out of 4 starts, all of them were quality, but you only got one win out of the four.

Here are the results followed by a great recipe, this time it’s How to Smoke Potatoes on the Grill.

1. Alfredo Simón

 

 

Alfredo Simon went seven innings strong, but failed to factor into the decision on Sunday against the Brewers. He allowed three runs on five hits and one walk in a 4-3 win in 10 innings. Simon has allowed just five earned runs over his last 13 innings. He owns a 1.99 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP in his first six starts (40 2/3 innings).  In his first start of week 5, Simon delivered a quality start vs. Cubs. In a game hampered by multiple weather delays Tuesday, Reds pitcher Alfredo Simon surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and two walks in six innings while striking out five in his team’s 3-2 win over the Cubs.

2. Kyle Lohse

 

Kyle Lohse failed to factor into the decision Sunday against the Reds in Cincinnati. He allowed two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out two in 6 1/3 innings of a 4-3 win in extras.  Lohse owns a 2.72 ERA over 46 1/3 innings. In his other start of the wee Kyle struck out nine in a quality start. Lohse didn’t record a decision Tuesday, giving up three earned runs on six hits and one walk in six innings while striking out nine in his team’s 5-4, 11-inning win over the Cardinals. He was tagged for three runs on a first-inning home run by Yadier Molina, but he buckled down to hold the Cardinals scoreless over the next five innings.
