Drink of The Weekend – May 3rd –

- Mint Julep -

Welcome to the next edition of  the FANFOOD Drink of the Weekend. Every weekend we will provide you with recipes for great drinks that are perfect for your backyard BBQ, or at your next tailgate party. The Kentucky Derby is this weekend, so we have to give you the recipe for “The Official Drink” of the race.

This week it’s Mint Juleps

The Mint Julep has been the traditional beverage of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby for nearly a century. This recipe uses Early Times Kentucky Whisky which is used in “The Official Mint Julep of the Kentucky Derby” for more than 18 years. Each year, almost 120,000 Early Times Mint Juleps are served over the two-day period of Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby weekend at Churchill Downs Racetrack.
